Back in Action

Day 3 of the New Year; Day 3 of our new blog!!! So far so good.....

I'm finding it hard to focus when it comes to my blogging. It seems to be more difficult to narrow down my thoughts when it comes to what I hear in my head and what ends up being typed on the page. I tend to ramble more about my own thoughts and want to almost rant rather than update and talk about the daily lives of "The Waddell Family" as the title of the blog suggests. I may resolve to just starting a separate blog for myself where I can share some of my on thoughts, videos, and ramblings. LOL

Today was my first day back to work after taking 2 1/2 weeks off for the Christmas Holiday and New Years. I wasn't able to take much time after Huck was born due to the way I had my "clients" scheduled at work. I was only able to take the week of Thanksgiving off to be with Beth and Huck. So this time off has been a blessing for me and Beth. I was able to help out with the daily chores and give Beth a break and some much needed personal time. We both were able to watch Huck grow and be a part of his daily life together.

Getting back to work today was not easy. Not only was it hard to go back, I went back  knowing I was going to meet 100+ emails and tones of paperwork soon as I arrived. I spent most the day trying to catch up and get on top of the tasks ahead of me. I got a lot accomplished today but still have enough work to keep me busy the remainder of the week.

Beth as been a trooper the entire time she was pregnant and the past 8 weeks post-pregnancy. We made a habit out of walking during the pregnancy since she wasn't able to run or workout. We walked as many people around town could attest to miles and miles each day the weather permitted. Recently her doctor gave her the OK to get back into working out and running again. She has been easing herself back into a routine of running and working out and that is impressive to see and watch her determination to return to a high level of fitness.

We are constantly in a state of learning and everything we do these days is a learning experience. With Huck man ruling most everything we do, we have gained so much respect for not only families but for single mothers and fathers. Getting in a routine and a non-chaotic schedule is work. Nothing is easy but nothing is so hard that you can't accomplish the task or complete the necessary daily goals. We are becoming good at the things that we are new to and we are more efficient at being parents.

Tomorrow is a much anticipated day in our household. We have wanted new living room furniture for some time now. We don't truly need it but we've always wanted it. We are getting a new couch, love seat/over sized chair, and a recliner. We've been trying out new ideas on the arrangement of our furniture and have found a new look that we hope will work with out new stuff. One of these days I'm going to add some picture and videos into the posts but today isn't the day. Maybe tomorrow when we get the new stuff. Who knows.

  1. Sounds like fun, I love getting new furniture! Definately add some pictures when you get a chance. Tell Beth "you go girl". It's hard to start working out again after months of having to take it easy, but she will be back to running in no time I'm sure. She's such a great athlete.
